In the blogging community BLOGGERS help BLOGGERS! They encourage each other. They read each others posts. They make comments to continue the dialogue. They retweet each other’s post so that more people are exposed to the ideas expressed.
Today I’d like to share a blog post written by someone very close to me. He doesn’t have a wide audience of readers yet. He hasn’t been a very regular blogger. His daily slumber seems to get in the way. He doesn’t have a Twitter account and doesn’t plan to at the moment. He does have a Facebook account, but he keeps forgetting his password. Yet, he wants to contribute to the world. So, I decided to spread his message.
Did the sentence “His daily slumber seems to get in the way” spark your curiosity? Why would a blogger be sleeping so much? He probably sleeps 13 to 18 hours a day! This may be a lot for a human, but not for a DOG. Yes, the blogger is my dog, my companion, my friend.
He started a blog in April of 2012. He wanted to share his adventures of being a therapy dog. He volunteers time as a Read to Me dog at the library and occasionally at some schools. Most recently he was able to attend a fundraiser for S.T.A.R.S. Inc., the organization he volunteers for. The topic of his recent blog post is 3 Keys to Happiness.
He learned of the 3 Keys to Happiness from Captain Luis Montalván, U.S. Army (Ret.) and his service dog, Tuesday – the featured guests at the fundraiser. You can learn more about their story in the book Until Tuesday: A Wounded Warrior and the Golden Retriever Who Saved Him as well as the stories of many 4-legged heroes in the upcoming television show Tails of Valor. Here’s a sneak peek on YouTube.
I invite you to go to Boji’s Blog and read his post 3 Keys to Happiness. The three keys have had a profound effect on both on our lives! After doing a little google searching I have learned that the 3 keys come from a quote from Allan K. Chalmers (1759-1834). This quote has also, however, been attributed to Joseph Addison, who lived from 1672-1719.
“The grand essentials of happiness are: something to do, something to love, and something to hope for.”
Boji seems to think my next read should be The Genius of Dogs: How Dogs Are Smarter than You Think. He may be right. He is a GENIUS and the world DEMANDS his contribution!Categories: Blogging, Therapy Dog
