INSTRUCTIONAL COACHING GIVEAWAY!
I have been doing a lot of cleaning and organizing lately with a goal to downsize my enormous book collection. I am a book-a-holic! Books live in almost every room of my house. I have discovered that I have multiple copies of several books. So, from time-to-time I will be giving them away to blog followers!
November Book Giveaway
A Drum Roll Please….
This month’s giveaway is perfect for Instructional Coaches! If you follow me on Twitter you will notice that I love to share books that have inspired me or books that will probably find their way to my collection. There are so many wonderful coaching books. One that I highly recommend is Coaching Classroom Management by Randy Sprick, Jim Knight, Wendy Reinke and Tricia McKale. I happen to have an extra copy of the book … so I am giving it away! The book needs to find a good home!
About the Book
The book I have is 1st Edition book published in 2006 (there is a 2nd edition to the book). The paperback book is in brand new condition complete with unopened CD of reproducibles and values at about $40.00 according to Amazon. During my time as an Instructional Coach I used many of the strategies and tools to assist teachers in collecting student engagement data. Positive classroom management skills are crucial to effective teaching and learning!
“This book is a must-read for administrators, staff developers, behavior specialists, and instructional coaches who work directly with teachers to improve classroom management and student behavior.
Coaching Classroom Management is filled with everything you need to implement effective behavioral coaching:
Staff development materials
Tip sheets for classroom walk-throughs
The tools in this book were designed and field tested to close the gap between the ideal of research-based practices and the actual implementation of positive classroom management. Administrators will find guidelines for setting expectations and assisting teachers in meeting them. Classroom coaches will discover how they can use the skills they already have to assist teachers in a non-evaluative context.
Help teachers spend less time dealing with disruptions and more time engaged in the business of teaching. Work with teachers to implement proactive, positive, and instructional approaches, which research has demonstrated achieve results far superior to traditional authoritarian, punitive, or exclusionary models.”
